Smart lock problems we solve.
Whether you are installing a brand new smart lock or your existing one is acting up, here are the issues we handle every day.
Keypad Unresponsive
You press the buttons and nothing happens. Could be dead batteries, a firmware glitch, or a hardware failure.
WiFi Won't Connect
The lock won't pair with your home WiFi. You can not control it remotely or get notifications on your phone.
Battery Draining Fast
You just changed the batteries and they are already dying. Usually a connectivity issue or a mechanical drag on the bolt.
Auto-Lock Not Working
The door is supposed to lock itself after 30 seconds but it does not. The setting may be off, or the bolt is not engaging properly.
Code Not Programming
You are trying to add a new user code and the lock will not accept it. Could be a full code list, a master code issue, or a firmware bug.
Deadbolt Jammed
The smart lock motor is trying to extend the bolt but it gets stuck. Usually a misaligned strike plate or a bolt that is hitting the frame.
New smart lock installation
Installing a smart lock is more than just swapping hardware. The deadbolt hole needs to be the right size. The door thickness matters. The WiFi signal at the door needs to be strong enough. We handle all of that. We remove your old deadbolt, prep the door if needed, install the new smart lock, connect it to your WiFi or Bluetooth, program your master code and user codes, and test the lock from inside and outside. We also show you how to use the app, add codes, and check the battery level. When we leave, you will know exactly how your new lock works.
How we install smart locks.
We have installed hundreds of smart locks across the Treasure Coast. Here is exactly what happens during a typical installation visit.
Check Door Compatibility
We measure the door thickness, check the deadbolt bore size, and test your WiFi signal strength at the door. If anything needs adjusting, we handle it.
Remove Old Hardware
We take out the existing deadbolt and clean up the bore holes. If the holes need to be enlarged for the new lock, we do that carefully.
Install and Connect
We mount the smart lock, connect it to your WiFi or Bluetooth, download the app on your phone, and pair everything together.
Program and Test
We set up your master code, add user codes, configure auto-lock settings, and test the lock from inside and outside. We walk you through everything.
Programming, troubleshooting, and battery replacement
Already have a smart lock but need help with it? We do that too. We can add or delete access codes, set up time-limited guest codes, troubleshoot WiFi connectivity issues, replace batteries, update firmware, and fix mechanical problems with the bolt. If your lock is acting weird, you don't need to call the manufacturer's tech support line and wait on hold. Call us at (772) 207-4146 and we will come fix it. We work on Schlage Encode, Kwikset Halo, August WiFi, Yale Assure, Level Lock, and most other residential smart locks.
Choosing the right smart lock
Not sure which smart lock to buy? Here is a quick breakdown. Schlage Encode has built-in WiFi so you don't need a separate hub. Kwikset Halo is easy to rekey and has a clean design. August WiFi Smart Lock lets you keep your existing key on the outside. Yale Assure works great with Apple HomeKit, Google, and Alexa. Level Lock is nearly invisible and fits inside the door. We can help you pick the right one for your situation, your door, and your smart home setup. Just ask when you call.
